Ekofór (“Environment-joke”) is a competition of cartoons and cartoon stories for the general public. It was created in 1979, but it ceased to exist after ten years. In 2004, we decided to renew it. Its aim is to get the general public, and young people above all, involved in a creative process to depict, in a funny way, current environmental issues – that should encourage them to be more interested in environmental protection and similar topics.
The competition works are evaluated by a panel of experts consisting of representatives of environmental organizations and the Czech Union of Cartoonists. There is also a panel of non-experts consisting of people who visit some of our summer holidays exhibitions or our virtual gallery – this panel also chooses the best jokes.
